5Qs is a free daily puzzle game. You ask up to 5 questions to an AI character and try to solve a mystery. No account is required to play.
Anonymous player ID. When you first play, a random ID is generated and stored in your browser's local storage. This ID is not linked to your name, email, or any personal information unless you choose to sign in.
Game data. We store your puzzle attempts, scores, and question history so you can see your stats and resume games. This data is linked to your anonymous player ID.
Email (optional). If you sign in to join the Inner Circle program, we store the email address you provide. We use it only for authentication and referral tracking.
Feedback. If you submit feedback through the game, we store the message along with your player ID so we can improve the game.
When you ask a question during gameplay, it is sent to Google Gemini (an AI service by Google) to generate the character's response. Your questions are not stored by 5Qs beyond the current game session. Google's use of this data is governed by their own privacy policy.
5Qs uses browser local storage to save your player ID, game progress, and preferences. We do not use tracking cookies for our own purposes. Third-party services on this site (analytics and advertising) may set their own cookies as described below.
We use PostHog and Vercel Analytics to understand how the game is used (e.g., which pages are visited, general performance metrics). These tools collect anonymous usage data and do not identify you personally.
We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ad Settings. For more information, see how Google uses data when you use our site.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.
Game data and anonymous player IDs are retained indefinitely to support stats and streaks. If you sign in, your email is retained as long as your account exists. You can clear your local data at any time by clearing your browser storage.
5Qs is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
